Welcome to Affirm Trinity. This group came together in June of 2020 as a response to Council’s acceptance of the goal to lead Trinity United on the journey to a decision on becoming an Affirming Congregation. Thelma Beaudry, Judy Hall, Ken and Lila Deer, Justine McDonnell, Johnny Langille, and Janice Elliot responded to a request for member participation. Rev. Murray Rounding graciously agreed to lead us as we begin this journey.
This group meets bi-weekly to educate ourselves on what it means to become an Affirming Congregation. Our meetings are open to anyone who cares to join us and learn about this process. If interested, please contact Thelma Beaudry at firstname.lastname@example.org to advise that you would like to attend.
Trinity’s Mission Statement calls us to be an inspiring, Spirit-filled community, reaching out to all and welcoming diversity. As an Affirming Congregation, the church welcomes, recognizes and encourages the full participation of all persons inclusive of age, gender-identity, sexual orientation, differing abilities, ethnicity, or economic circumstance. Trinity United is a Christian Church, and in Christ’s Church God’s love embraces and welcomes all.
This section of our website will include educational information, updates on Affirm Trinity’s progress, invitations to educational workshops and links to additional resources. Covid-19 will make gathering together difficult. But we have faith in Trinity’s technical wizards to make excellent communication possible, and the telephone!
Eventually, the congregation will be asked to vote on whether Trinity should be an Affirming Congregation. The decision belongs to you.
Hopefully, we will have a section for frequently asked questions. Please send your thoughts, opinions and questions to Thelma at email@example.com. Affirm Trinity will respond as quickly as possible.
